Jervis Bay town is only quite a small town, but there are several other small towns surrounding the bay. It is these towns and national parks which help make up our Jervis Bay Guide.
Things to do in Jervis Bay
Beecroft Peninsula Jervis Bay
This peninsula is located on the far north side of the bay. You will have to drive through kilometres of bushland and pass a military training area before you come out the other side to a small town called Currarong. It is at the far end of the town you will find a car park and an entrance to the Abrahams Bosom Reserve. There is a great walking track here which follows the coastline around the peninsula. Make sure you stop off at Gossangs Tunnel which is about halfway round.
Location 📍 Gerringong St, Beecroft Peninsula NSW
Hyams Beach
Hyams beach will feature on our Jervis Bay Guide twice and for very good reason. It officially has the whitest sand in the world! The beaches along this area are pristine. There isn’t much around Hyams beach, but we did find a little cafe on the edge of the beach which sold great coffee and snacks.
Location📍: Cyrus St, Hyams Beach NSW
Basin View Jervis Bay
Basin View probably isn’t on many guides around the Jervis Bay area. This seems mad as it’s one of the most stunning places we visited on this road trip. This very large lake is great for swimming, fishing paddle boarding or just relaxing on the shore. If you go to the far end of the lake and enter Booderee National park you can follow the river out into the ocean or visit Cape St George Lighthouse.

Murray’s Beach
Located on the northern tip of the Booderee National Park. This remote but stunning beach looked over Bowen Island. With white sand and clear blue water, the beach is very popular with the locals. There aren’t any amenities here so make sure you bring a picnic.
Location📍: Drive to the very end of Jervis Bay Road. There are National Park fees to access the beach.
Moona Moona Creek
Located in the town of Huskisson this creek runs into the bay. With crystal clear water and beautiful sand. This is the perfect place to spend the day out with the family. With the shallow water of the creek and all the town’s amenities just around the corner, it is perfect for everyone.
Location📍: Burrill Street, Huskisson, NSW
Places to eat in Jervis Bay
A word of warning. There are LOTS of very nice places to each around here so it’s been hard to narrow it down.
