Things to do in Dalat was the first thing we searched before we booked our bus ticket from Ho Chi Minh. It turns out there is so much to do in this beautiful town hidden in the mountains.
The first selling point of Da Lat is the temperature, it’s a hell of a lot cooler than anywhere else due to the altitude. This also causes problems for travellers as it tends to rain every afternoon.
Due to this rain, the town is surrounded by copious amounts of beautiful flowers. Hence why this town is known as the town of eternal spring. This is our top things to do in Da Lat Vietnam!

Cable Car at Robin Hill 🚡
This is one of the best ways to look over the whole city. It is a safe and peaceful way to enjoy nature from above. Before you get on the cable car, stop to have breakfast next door at Anna’s Cafe. It offers great breakfast options accompanied by amazing views. The cable car starts at Robin Hill lookout and ends at the Monastery.
Price of cable car one way: d130,000 [£4.38]
Return: d160,000 [£5.42]
Once you have finished in the monastery you have a choice of returning back to Robin Hill by cable car. Or as we did take a taxi from the top and head to the next stop Datanla Waterfall.
↠ Travel Tip – If you wish to enter the Monastery you will have to cover your arms and legs to enter.
Datanla Waterfall Dalat 💦
Have you ever taken a roller coaster down to a waterfall? No, well now you can.
At this waterfall, there is an option to walk or to jump on a self-controlled coaster down to the first level. It was really fun to explore with waterfall by roller coaster.
↠ Travel Tip – Start at the longer roller coaster to get the most out of your return tickets.
It can get quite confusing inside as there isn’t many English signs. We wish we had the picture of the map when we were getting lost.

Things to do in Dalat – Crazy House Dalat 🤪
You can’t visit Dalat without getting lost in the Crazy house! This amazing place was built by a Vietnamese archetype who studied in Russia. She returned home and completed her vision right here in Da Lat in 1990.
It really is crazy and you can even stay in this house as it is also a hotel! Check prices here to experience your own 50 shades of cray. The architect still lives here and she is 79!
↠ Travel Tip – Make sure to pop into Le Chalet next door for some delicious lunch!
Entrance fee: d30,000 [£2]

Hoa Son Dien Trang – Flower garden 🌼
Walk around this beautiful flower garden designed with Instagram in mind. Every stop has a photo element made for you to take the perfect photo. It was a nice day out to explore a different area in Da Lat and be surrounded by mountains.
↠ Travel Tip – If you take a taxi, make sure you ask them to wait as it is difficult to get a grab this far out of town.
Lam Vien Square
Drone nerds these ones for you. Walk or fly around these beautiful buildings and take some interesting photos. Inside the green one is a lovely coffee shop to refuel. We walked all around the town and along the river to discover these amazing pieces of modern architecture.
↠ Travel Tip – This place is super slippy in flip flops, don’t fall over like we did!
Clay Tunnel Dalat 🌺
Made entirely from Clay this attraction is very quirky. As you walk around you will see items larger than life and some of which you can climb on top of. We ran to the end of the tunnel as that is where you will find the heads in the water.
The infinity pool looks out over the lush green fields with mountains as a backdrop. It truly is beautiful, crowded by beautiful. We were the only westerners in the entire place.
↠ Travel Tip – Get there early otherwise you will have half of Vietnam in your photos. The second option is to befriend a very loud Vietnamese man like us, who shouted at the entire pool to move out the way for us.
Stairway to Heaven Dalat 👼🏽
Get a photo on the stairway to heaven with a great backdrop. It might look scary but we can confirm it is an optical illusion, it is very safe as the ground is underneath. This spot has a beautiful view of the flower farms below which reach for as far as you can see.
Entrance fee: d20,000 [67p].
↠ Travel Tip – This isn’t a long stop if you’re worried about time. We drove past this on our way home and was here for 10 minutes.
Linh Phuoc Pagoda 🕉️
This is also known as the pagoda of broken glass due to the 49-meter-long dragon’s head at the entrance gate, which was made from 12,000 glass bottles. There is also a female buddha you can visit next door which is completely made of flowers.

↠ Travel Tip – There is a dog cafe called Black Rock Garden. Surround your self with puppies! They close for the dogs to have a rest in the afternoon and open again at 2:30 pm.

Pongour Waterfall 💦
Unfortunately, this is the one-stop we didn’t manage to get to while we were in Da Lat. The waterfall is an hours drive away and sadly it was slightly out of our daily budget to take a taxi. This waterfall looks incredible though and if we ever go back, we will make sure we reach it!
