Some people at my hostel that all went to a farm together invited me along to Cape Tribluation for the day. This was my first day off from housekeeping ever and I didn’t want to waste the day around the hostel and I liked everyone going so I thought why not, I haven’t been there yet and it’s only a day trip rather than the over night tour people normally do to Cape Trib. This place was beautiful, it was like something out of LOST, where the jungle meets the beach and the mist over the mountains just looked unreal. Even though I’ve seen some beautiful places I still get blown away every time I see places as beautiful as this. I loved this day so much! I loved that I had no idea where we were going or what we were going to do, all I knew is that I was in the back of a 7 seater with a bunch of people I didn’t know too well having such a good time. I forgot what it was like getting to know new people again, I forgot what it was like to talk to people that weren’t all english, I forgot what it was like to do something new and I think I forgot what it was like to be my self and have fun. I drank goon, played with bubbles, fell asleep on a beach and drank from a coconut cut by the crazy Russian with all his secret knives, because he’s Russian, and I loved every minute of it. Cape Tribulation is actually the place someone died resently because she got munched by a crocodile..I was thankful for the knives in the end ! I think I forgot what it was like to be travelling as I’ve been stuck in Cairns for so long. Which I know sounds stupid but it happens when you get comfortable in places and forget how lucky you are to be on the other side of the world, with a bunch of people from all across the world, sharing a cup of goon snuggled up in a car that couldn’t reverse and having Jacob act as my seat belt because he knew how terrified I was every time the car went over a bump . Jacob was actually Bear Grills all day running up and down the whole beach to find a coconut. 9 months travelling and this was the first time I’ve drank from a coconut!
This was the best day ever and I have one shell on my necklace that I found at this beach so I won’t be forgetting this day any time soon. The most perfect day ending at the lookout over Cairns and looking at the stars. I saw two shooting stars and I was fully entranced by the view. It was incredible, best day in Australia so far!
