I have met some amazing people travelling and Oliver is definitely one of them. As a surprise he came back to Cairns after leaving for NZ and surprised me with a weekend away to Port Douglas! I wasn’t told what we were doing or where we were going, I was only told what to pack. First stop was Mossman Gorge, which is part of the Daintree National Park, it was so beautiful! Even if we did come across a snake while I was climbing on rocks trying to get the best picture for my Instagram, even though Ollys sly snap of me made the final cut. Then we drove to Port Douglas which is a beautiful little town near Cairns and checked into a fancy hotel Olly had booked for the two of us! I have never in my life been treated like this and didn’t even know how to react. It was such a nice weekend seeing new things, chilling by the sea watching people getting married and having their wedding photos on the beach. We then decided to get a curry so we got all ready and dressed up but forgot what it was like to have a double bed again, so once we sat down it was extremely hard to get back up.. Which resulted in the curry house to close and only able to get a takeaway which we took back to the room and ate on the table on the balcony which was lovely! Forgot what it was like to be in a hotel without being a cripple in pain recovering from surgery. This weekend was amazing and just what I needed! Will never forget this as it was a highlight of my whole cairns experience! Olly if you’re reading this I hope you know how much this weekend meant to me and how much I enjoyed it. 😘
